Hurricane Sandy was only a Category 1 storm when it hit NYC, what made it deadly was the storm surge. We now face that same threat. Don’t let the name fool you, this storm has the potential to be deadly. To limit this we need to prepare, please send to your friends, especially if they live by any of the rivers. Make sure you prepare for the slight possibility that you could loose power. The winds are a fraction of what they were for sandy but the rain will be a great amount. Again please share! Let’s be prepared!

An example of environmental racism in NYC:

Nearly 1/3 of our city's greenhouse gas emissions comes from cars and trucks on the roads. This pollution disproportionately impacts communities of color and low-income communities.

To tackle climate change, we must build transportation and public transit infrastructure with racial justice, sustainability and accessibility in mind.
